The“Shogh” Center established in 2013 provides educational and social services to vulnerable families in Vanadzor. Its services emphasize educational support, while also providing after-school enrichment as well as hot meals – all served in a positive, inviting atmosphere conducive to learning.
The Center was spun off from the Foundation-led “Zangakatun” Social Services NGO, but has refocused its emphasis on education: the Center now provides tutoring to over 60 children annually, thus helping to improve their school performance.
Begun as a joint initiative of the Foundation and the Armenian Missionary Association of America (AMAA), “Shogh” is now run exclusively by the AMAA. During the past two years, it has grown to include several centers in Armenia as well as in Shushi, Artsakh, where its social service provisions are much-needed.
